The Trade HookTurn missed calls into customers
← Who it is for

For Electricians

Missed calls while you are wiring, texted back for you.

Electricians often work where answering the phone is not safe or practical. The Trade Hook lets the call ring as normal, and if it is not answered the customer gets a text from your business so they can describe the fault while you finish the job.

Where it helps

Faults and tripping

A customer can reply describing what has stopped working. If they say it is urgent, the enquiry is marked urgent.

Quotes for rewires, sockets and EV chargers

Bigger jobs start with details: the customer can text the property and what they want, and you reply with a time to visit.

Safe working

You do not need to touch your phone while working. Unanswered calls are handled and waiting for you afterwards.

Repeat callers

If the same customer rings twice, the calls are kept together in one enquiry instead of two separate missed calls.

A worked example

Example data

The automatic text your business sends:

Sorry we missed your call to [your business name]. Please reply with how we can help, or call us on [your number]. Thank you.

The customer replies:

Hi, the kitchen sockets keep tripping the fuse box. Need someone to have a look. Can you call me back?

What the enquiry shows you: the reply in full, the caller’s number to ring or text back, any voicemail with its transcript, and the simple details picked out automatically:

  • What they need: someone to have a look
  • Callback requested

The automatic reader only picks out simple things, such as the word “urgent” or a request to call back. You always see the customer’s own words.

How it fits your day

  1. 1

The customer calls your normal number; your phone rings first.

  2. 2

An unanswered call is forwarded by your provider to your Trade Hook number.

  3. 3

The customer can leave a voicemail and is sent a polite text from your business.

  4. 4

You see the reply, the voicemail transcript and the number to ring in one enquiry.

Questions

Does the customer know it is an automatic text?

The text is short and polite and comes from your business name: sorry the call was missed, how can we help. It does not pretend to be a person.

How many calls does a plan include?

Plans include a set number of recovered missed calls and texts each month, from 25 on Solo. The free trial covers 10 recovered calls with no time limit. See pricing for the full allowances.

Can I reply from my phone?

Yes. The inbox works in the web browser on your phone, and replies you send go from your Trade Hook number, not your personal mobile.

What it does not do

  • It does not diagnose faults or give advice to customers.
  • It cannot text landlines or withheld numbers back.

It works for any business that takes enquiries by phone, not only electricians.

Try it on your own number

Start with 10 free recovered calls and no time limit. A card goes on file, but nothing is charged until you choose a plan.
